Before you go
Watford or Warwick Village: which is where? 
Check the address before leaving. The community complex, the library, the Old Firehall Museum and Centennial Park are in Watford. The Warwick Conservation Area is on Warwick Village Road, and Warwick Village has its own ball park with a playground for a shorter stop. The fairgrounds and A.W. Campbell are in Alvinston, south of both.
What if it rains?
A confirmed session at the East Lambton Community Complex, or books and a program at the Carnegie library. Both run to a calendar, so check it first; an open building is not an open gym. More indoor ideas.
Is there somewhere to run around and get wet?
Centennial Park in Watford has a playground and a seasonal splash pad; bring spare clothes and confirm the water and washrooms are running before you promise them. The East Lambton Community Complex on Centennial Avenue has the ice and the gym, but an open building is not a free one: use the current program calendar, bring dry indoor shoes, and ask about Everyone Plays if program costs are a barrier. Where should we start with younger children?
Keep it to one stop: Centennial Park with a picnic, or a gentler pause at the Sunken Gardens or Bluebird Parkette, which has a public chess and checkers table if you bring pieces. Watford's mobile EarlyON playgroup is listed in the EarlyON Lambton directory; check the meeting place and weather plan, as it can be outdoors.
